A portrait of my daughter, once a week every week, in 2015

When you're feeling under the weather, there's nothing better than licking bowl after mum has made a cake.

Bounce, bounce, bounce! Bouncy castle fun on a sunny Sunday morning.

You would think from this photo that she didn't like her dinner. We were actually playing peek-a-boo!

She's just be caught doing something she's not supposed to #cheekygrin

Sunday baking. Every time I put a spoonful of batter into the muffin tin, she proceeded to scoop it out and eat it!

Saturday morning - gumboots on, hair up; it's a beautiful sunny day!

The very next minute her boots were off and she was enjoying the feel of grass beneath her feet. Bliss.

In-between the snotty nose and the tears, she still finds time to make us laugh.

This girl and hummus. You would think she was eating a bowl of ice cream.

You can't see them in this photo, but she is eyeing up a bunch of noisy, revving motorbikes. She didn't leave her position at the gate until they had all ridden away.

Mum, open your mouth so I can give you some popcorn!

HOMEBREWING

I love ginger. Since cutting out sugar from my diet I haven't had a glass of ginger beer (or ginger wine for that matter!) in so long. I had been meaning to experiment brewing my own ginger beer for a while - it was going to be my project while on maternity, but that never happened! - and finally got round to creating a ginger bug in the weekend. Making the bug was quick and easy, and since the sugar gets 'eaten' during the fermenting process homemade ginger beer is really low in sugar.
I have set my first batch to brew, using my ginger bug and rice malt syrup in place of refined sugar, and will look at bottling it up this weekend. I can't wait to taste it - I had a sneaky taste the other night and I think it is going to be gooooood!

This is the recipe I am following - Make you own Ginger-ade Soda.

Enjoying her first marshmallow. She didn't know that you could eat them, so squished the first one in her hands and then threw it on the ground!
I love the squinty eyed expression on her face in this photo.
