Quinoa & Chia Breakfast pot.
I decided to take part in the 8-Week I Quit Sugar challenge. I have been interested in the relationship between food & health for a few years now, and after having a baby last year this seemed like the perfect way to get my eating back on track, as well as being a good start to 2015.
I'm hoping that by adopting a sugar free diet my energy levels will increase (I know I have a baby, but I have struggled with low energy levels for years), my hormones will balance out and the appearance of my skin will improve.
With a weekly shopping list and daily meal plan, the challenge is really easy to follow. Four days in, and so far everything I have made has tasted yummy. The hardest part will be cutting out fruit in week two, but I have been slowly weaning myself off in preparation for the challenge.
My only comment thus far is that I wish I had chosen the vegetarian challenge option as there is quite a lot of meat in the recipes - more than I would normally eat in a week. I think I may have to adapt some of the meals so that two or three dinners a week are meat free, and also look at reducing my dairy consumption too.
Ill let you know how week two goes.
