HOMEBREWING

I love ginger. Since cutting out sugar from my diet I haven't had a glass of ginger beer (or ginger wine for that matter!) in so long. I had been meaning to experiment brewing my own ginger beer for a while - it was going to be my project while on maternity, but that never happened! - and finally got round to creating a ginger bug in the weekend. Making the bug was quick and easy, and since the sugar gets 'eaten' during the fermenting process homemade ginger beer is really low in sugar.
I have set my first batch to brew, using my ginger bug and rice malt syrup in place of refined sugar, and will look at bottling it up this weekend. I can't wait to taste it - I had a sneaky taste the other night and I think it is going to be gooooood!

This is the recipe I am following - Make you own Ginger-ade Soda.
